Kayastha People Do Not Use Pen For 24 Hours
In anger, Lord Chitragupta had kept the pen because he did not receive the invitation of Rajatilak of Lord Ram. The Parave Kal was started at that time
On the day of Parev, Kayasthas do not use the pen, and do not do any accounting work of any kind, why is it so? That people of Kayastha society all over the world keep the pen after worship on Diwali and lift it only after the worship of Kalam-Davat on Yamdutiya.
In this society, many questions are often asked Kayastha by people. In such a situation, unacquainted from its own history, Kayastha young generation can not give a proper answer to it. When it was discovered, we found a reference of a very interesting incident in the legends related to it.
It is said that when Lord Rama was returning to Ayodhya after killing to Dashanan Ravana, then Raja Bharat, who was running the Governance by placing the footwear of ram on the throne, asked the guru Vashistha to arrange for sending the messages for the raj tilak of Lord Rama to To all deities. Guru Vashishth submitted this work to his disciples and started preparation for Raj Tilak.
When all All Goddesses came in the Raj Tilak, then Lord Ram asked Bharat that Lord Chitragupta is not visible here. When the inquiry was done about this, it came to know that the followers of Guru Vashishtha had not sent the invitation to Lord Chitragupta. So Lord Chitragupta did not come Here. Lord Chitragupta knew all and understood it as the glory of Lord Rama. Consequently, he assumed that this mistake of Guru Vashishta was inexplicable and he gave up the Kalam which is used for writing the account of all the human beings in Yamaloka.
When all gods and goddesses came back from the Raj Tilak they noticed that all the works of heaven and hell were stopped. And it was difficult to determine where to send any creature because there were no accounts of creature available
Lord Rama prayed and apologize about the mistake of Guru Vashishtha from Lord Chitragupta in the temple of Lord Chitragupta founded by Lord Vishnu in Ayodhya. After which Lord Chitragupta accepted the request of Lord Ram, And took again the kalam after worshiping the pen at about after 24 hours and started the task of writing accounts of the human beings. From then on, Kayasthas keep the pen after worshiping on Deepawali and hold it back after worshiping duly of Lord Chitragupta and kalam-Davat on the day of Yamdutiya.
