Baba Jahangir: Fills 400 Liters Of Water Every Day For The Animals And Words
Some people love animals and birds so much that they want to help them as much as possible. Significantly, during the lockdown, some people across the country used to leave their homes so that they could feed the hungry animals and birds. One of them is Syed Jahangir. He is a quality animal lover, working as a plumber at Osmania University in Hyderabad. Even though he is a plumber, his attachment to the animals and birds makes him a very special person.
Jahangir lives with his family at Osmania University. Everyone use to call him as ‘Baba Jahangir’. For the past six years, they have been giving water to the animals and birds of the forest. He says, "Hyderabad has a high temperature before the monsoon arrives." So he keeps water in the forest for them. Though he does not know how big the forest is and how many animals will live here. But he goes in the forest about 4 kilometres every day and keeps water at a distance of every 50 meters. There are 40 such places where they keep water. They use to called them 'water houses'. there are some broken pots, some big utensils, and some small cisterns made from cement he use for keeping water. Now they are providing about 400 liters of water for the wild animals every day.
They have to make many trips on the bike to get so much water in the forest. But they don't feel any problem with this. Jahangir says, "If he doesn't have a bike, he would do it on foot" wild animals also know and love them now. When they go to fill the water, the animals still roam around them comfortably because they know that Jahangir is their friends, not hunters. His family also support him in their work . As well as, the whole university also appreciates his work.
